History:Bomarzo is a small village located in Lazio, famous for the Parco dei Mostri, a mannerist garden created in the 16th century by Pier Francesco Orsini, known as Vicino Orsini. The park was designed by architect Pirro Ligorio.
Cultural and artistic significance: the Bomarzo Monster Park is famous for its grotesque and surreal sculptures depicting monsters, mythical animals and bizarre characters.The park foreshadows surrealist art and is a singular example of a Renaissance garden.
